In 1994 in a garage Sheela Ramakrishnan and Rajika Dhiren started making quality teaching materials for the intellectually disabled under the name of Edcraft (http://www.edcraftindia.com). It grew out of a belief that children/adults need stimulating materials and, learning should be an enjoyable experience. Having worked over the years with the Government, National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for several years, we designed, co developed and manufactured high quality materials that have proved extremely useful to children/adults all over the country. Our range covers pre-primary to vocational needs. Our customers at present include National Institutes, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan under the CWSN program, from various states, DRCs, special schools run by NGOs as well as a vast number of private schools in India. We have also been supplying age wise kits under the Assistive Device Implementation Program. We have recently supplied our materials to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, National Disability Park. Our materials are suitable for Resource Rooms / Therapy parks / Age wise kits, for distribution that can be used by children and adults, age appropriately.
