‘New Books’, owned by Shahul Valapattanam, a well known novelist and short story writer, was established in the year 2011. Our vision includes not only to publish the books written by reputed Malayalam writers, but to encourage new writers by giving them chance to publish their work as well. A book written by the Late Dr. Sukumar Azhikode was the first issue released from ‘New Books’ which was immediately followed by essays, novels, short story collections, poetry, travelogue, and a variety of dialogues written by famous writers such as U.A. Khader, C. Radhakrishnan, M. Mukundan, O.V. Usha, M.N. Karasseri, Subash Chandran, Shihabudheen Poithurnkadavu, Ashitha, P.K. Parakkadavu. The main office and outlet of ‘New Books’ is located at Alavil, 3 K.M. away from Kannur town.
